Cancellation Policy

As an independent contractor (Pilot), you have the autonomy to accept or decline any trip request sent to you via the RedBike platform. However, to maintain service quality and platform integrity, we strongly advise you to switch offline when you are not available to undertake trips.

RedBike Taxi reserves the right to investigate and act upon any breach of this policy, which may include restriction or suspension of access to the platform.

Unacceptable Cancellation Behaviours

The following behaviours are considered violations of your service agreement and may result in penalties, including deactivation:

  • Cancelling or refusing to complete a trip based on the rider's destination.
  • Cancelling or refusing a ride due to dynamic fare multipliers (e.g., surge pricing).
  • Cancelling or refusing service based on any reason that would be considered discriminatory or unlawful under applicable regulations.
  • Refusing to accommodate service animals, such as guide dogs, for persons with disabilities.
  • Requesting or pressuring riders to cancel after the ride has been accepted.
  • Systematic or repeated cancellation of rides without valid cause.

Examples of Violations

Examples of behaviour that may be considered non-compliant:

  • Calling the rider before pickup to ask for their destination, and cancelling upon hearing it.
  • Showing obstructive behaviour at the pick-up location to force the rider to cancel.
  • Repeated last-minute cancellations without legitimate reason.

Refund Policy

Once a ride is successfully completed, no refund is applicable under any circumstance.

However, in case of cancellation, the system will determine whether a cancellation charge applies, in accordance with platform and aggregator policies.

Cancellation Scenarios

  1. Cancellation by Rider (User/Customer):
    • If the rider cancels after the Pilot has already started traveling to the pickup point, a cancellation fee may apply.
    • If the rider cancels well in advance, no charge may be applied.
  2. Cancellation by Pilot (Driver):
    • If a Pilot cancels without a valid reason after accepting a ride, penalties may be imposed.
    • If the Pilot cancels due to safety, emergency, or unforeseen legitimate circumstances, no charge will be levied.
  3. System-Determined Cancellations:
    • In the event of system errors, technical disruptions, or aggregator-enforced cancellations, the system will assess the situation and apply or waive charges accordingly.

Final Decision and Enforcement

RedBike Taxi reserves the right to make the final decision on any cancellation and refund matter, based on data logs, user reports, and platform guidelines. Repeated misuse or manipulation of the cancellation system may lead to suspension or permanent removal from the RedBike platform.
